Delhi – Cochin / Kochi - Alleppey – Houseboat – Kumarakom - Periyar – Kochi
Day 1. Delhi – Cochin / Kochi
Transfer to the Delhi Airport to board the flight 9W835 for Cochin / Kochi via Chennai. Depart Delhi at 14:45 hr / Arrive Chennai at 17:25 hr. Later same flight will depart for Cochin / Kochi. Depart Chennai at 18:00 hr / Arrive the gateway to the God's own country at 19:10 hr. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel. In the evening, watch a Kathakali dance performance at the cultural center in the city. Overnight stay.
Day 2. Cochin / Kochi City Tour
After breakfast, proceed for Cochin / Kochi city tour. Cochin or the Queen of the Arabian Sea is a port harbor naturally created by the sunken Malabar mud-banks. These mud-banks secure and keep the inner side of water within the harbour calm. Vasco De Gama's step in Cochin gave it prominence and placed it on the world map. The famous attractions of Kochi feature Jewish Synagogue, Portuguese Churches, Mosques & Hindu Temples and Mattancherry Palace, the Dutch Palace, etc. In the evening, visit Fort Kochi and spot the series of Chinese Fishing Nets, a living heritage of Cochin gifted by the traders from the court of Kublai Khan. These larger than life nets still are the source of livelihood to numerous fishermen of the city. Overnight stay.
Day 3. Cochin – Alleppey – Houseboat
After breakfast, drive to Alleppey (70 km /2 hr). Upon arrival, board the houseboat from Alleppey which forms one of the most unforgettable experiences in Kerala. The floating eco-friendly boat unwinds the soul and takes it back in the peaceful and contentment zone. While sailing down a maze of canals, tourists get to see different scenes from the villages, paddy fields, coconut palms, fisherman and local life. The meals including (Lunch, Tea Snacks, Dinner and Next day breakfast will be provided in the boat.) The cool breeze from the Lake will sing a lullaby as you retire to sleep early in the night after anchoring in a fancy place. Dinner and overnight in the houseboat.
Day 4. Houseboat – Kumarakom
Arrive Kumarakom and drive to hotel. Later visit Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary. This manmade bird sanctuary is rich in a number of noteworthy species including the Dater or Snake Bird, Little Cormorant, Night Heroin, Golden- backed woodpecker, Crow Pheasant, White Breasted Water Hen and Tree Pie etc. Overnight stay.
Day 5. Kumarakom – Periyar
After breakfast, drive to Periyar (approx 135 km / 3 hr drive). Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel. Later visit tea and spice plantations or be a part of a soft trek with escort in the jungle. Overnight stay.
Day 6. Periyar
After breakfast, visit the major attractions of Thekkady Spice Forest. In the afternoon, take a Boat safari in Lake Periyar inside the Periyar National Park. Overnight stay.
Day 7. Periyar – Cochin
After breakfast drive to Cochin which is around 185 km / 5 hr drive. On arrival, transfer to the Nedumbassery Airport to board the flight for onward destination.
